New York Summer Training Institute (STI)
During the first
week in June - trainers, affiliate directors, and board
representatives from affiliates across the state gather at the White
Eagle
Conference Center in Hamilton, New York (www.whiteagle.com)
for a week of
workshops, networking, and meetings. The Institute's goal is to provide
an
intensive staff development opportunity for Literacy New York affiliates
through interactive workshops, forums, and informal discussion with
colleagues.
The Summer Institute
includes two tracks:
Track One
- Trainers and prospective trainers
Track Two - Executive Directors, program/other staff, and board
members
Feedback from attendees
about their experience at the Literacy New York
Summer Institute has been extremely positive:

opportunities to share ideas during lunch and dinner as well as during
the workshops"
"After attending
the Summer Institute, I feel a much greater connection
to other affiliates."
"It's great
for planning; I know the Summer Institute will be in early June, and
I can get folks lined up to go in advance."
